Micah Richards Q&A

1. Its been an amazing first full season for you has it even passed your own expectations?

Yes and no, I always had the belief that I would make it to the top level but never thought that things would happen this quick, but in life when opportunities arise you have to take them as they might never come again. So in a way it has passed my expectations, but only really the speed in which everything has happened.

2. What has been the highlight?

The highlight so far was my full England debut against Holland in the Amsterdam Arena. It was a very special moment for me. It was an amazing experience, especially coming up against one of the best wingers around in Arjen Robben. I had a tough battle with him but thought I stood up well and gave a good account of myself.

3. How do Steve Mclaren and Stuart Pearce compare?

The both have very contrasting styles. Steve Mclaren has a more relaxed style but still get the message of what each player,

and collectively as a team we need to do. Meanwhile Stuart Pearce is more vocal and knows how to prepare us for matches too. They both know what they want for their players!!!

4. Are you confident of England's qualification chances?

Yes, there is far too much quality and belief in the camp.

5. How has your life changed in the past year?

Life has changed quite a bit, I only used to get noticed by the diehard City fans when walking around but now everyone recognises me and asks for pictures and autographs, I don’t mind it though, I understand it comes with the territory, also it is good to give the fans something back as they are the ones who support you through thick and thin and pay week in week out to watch us. Also I am able to do things and realize ambitions I always had.
