This issue TLR would like to introduce another outstanding prospect for the future in Everton's Seamus Coleman. Seamus is an exciting full back who signed for Everton, ahead of other interested clubs such as Celtic and Birmingham City, in January 2009 from Sligo Rovers, a club he had been at since 2006. The 20 year old is a Republic Of Ireland U-21 and U-23 International and has a number of qualities that suggest a good career at the top is ahead for him.
TLR managed to grab 5 minutes with him...
You made a dream move to the Premier League last season, how does it feel and have you managed to settle in OK?
Yes, I have always dreamed of coming to play in the Premiership and it was a fantastic feeling to achieve this when I signed for Everton. Everyone has been so great at the club and made me feel really welcome, its made it easy to settle in quickly.
Was it difficult decision to leave Ireland?
Definitely not, it was an easy decision to make, obviously I miss my friends and family but it was such a great opportunity I knew straight away I had to take it.
How would you describe yourself as a player?
I would say that I am a player who always gives 100% in every game and I am also a player who produces consistently good performances. I love defending and getting in plenty of tackles, blocks and headers, and like to get forward when I can.
You started pre season at Everton very well before picking up an injury. How is the rehabilitation going?
Pre-season was great, I really enjoyed it but the injury was definitely the downside! Rehabilitation starts next week so hoping to get back fit as soon as possible.
Did you always want to be a footballer?
Yes, for as long as I can remember it has been something that I have always wanted to do, the only thing really. Always had the dream of coming across to England from Ireland to play in the Premiership.
